Why Invisalign Teen?

Invisalign Teen clear aligners can straighten out your most complex shifts at an affordable cost. Customized specifically for teen patients, they have no wires, no brackets, and only translucent, medical-grade thermoplastic. Unlike direct-to-consumer braces where users are responsible for making their own molds, the Invisalign Teen process at Trident is a better but also safer alternative, where your kid gets one-on-one attention.

Invisalign aligners are the perfect invisible and removable aesthetic solution. They are replaced every 1-2 weeks, so your teen can say goodbye to the awkward look of traditional metal braces. Compared to traditional Invisalign aligners, Invisalign Teen aligners also have the Compliance Indicator, which monitors wear-time, eruption control, and root torque for better results.

First FREE consultation: The orthodontist will run digital scans of your kids’ teeth to determine the outcomes to be expected from the Invisalign Teen treatment. You won’t have to worry about unexpected costs thanks to our flex plans. You can check all the details here.

Next appointments: The set of aligners is ready! Time to track and map out a treatment plan for your little ones with trays to be changed every 1 to 2 weeks. A Sunnyvale specialist will guide you and your child to assess progress along the way.

Long-lasting results: With the Sunnyvale alternative braces for teens, your child will feel better having their teeth gradually shifting into place all while treating a variety of orthodontic issues.

What to expect during your teen treatment?

  • iTero® digital scans: A precise 3D scan
  • Preview of the treatment
  • Discussion about insurance benefits
  • Recommendations for payment options and plans
  • Results to be seen in a matter of weeks and the treatment time could last for as little as 6 months
  • Check-up appointments to monitor the progress, make any required adjustments, and answer your questions

Invisalign Teen braces can also help fix:

  • Gaps between teeth, which often contribute to weakened gums or jaws

  • Overbites, where the upper set of teeth rest significantly over the lower set of teeth

  • Underbites, where the lower set of teeth are closed in front of the upper set of teeth

  • Open bites, where some teeth don’t touch each other when your mouth is closed

  • Crossbites, where some upper teeth meet the insides of the lower teeth

  • Crowding, where some teeth are placed behind or in front of each other

What clients say about our Invisalign braces in Sunnyvale, CA

Teen patients often share how comfortable they feel showing off their smiles throughout the treatment. Here’s what some of our Invisalign Teen clients had to say:

"Like a lot of people, I had a case of misaligned teeth. I chose Trident for my Invisalign treatment because of their Diamond Plus accreditation and the fact that it was very affordable after insurance. Dr. Bhayani was kind and informative. It's been 3 months now and I already see great result."

- Christy

"I made the decision to get braces but I really didn't like how the traditional metal braces looked. As we looked for a solution, we came across Trident. The staff was super welcoming. I even got a free scan to see if this treatment was right for me. I'm very happy with my experience."

- Alexa

"Just finished my Invisalign treatment at Trident Smiles Dental and I am very happy with the results. I started in January 2020 and finished this week. The process went very quickly and was very easy. Since COVID hit early in my treatment, I was concerned that my progress would come to a standstill. Dr. Raja was able to continue providing me the trays and support remotely and my progress never slowed."

What is Invisalign?

The Invisalign removable aligners render a modern straightening method for ultimate orthodontic camouflage to help you get the smile you want, the way you want it. Invisalign aligners are removable, invisible and work to gradually align your teeth for a straighter smile while preventing orthodontic issues.

What does Invisalign do?

The Invisalign treatment is designed to create a digital plan that maps out the exact movements of your teeth. The clear aligners apply the right amount of force to the right places based on a customized plan  and the treatment’s goals set by you and your doctor.

Can teens get Invisalign?

Yes. Invisalign Teen treatment is tailored to adolescents who choose transparent braces as a more discrete option.

What are the benefits of Invisalign Teen?

Invisalign Teen braces is a treatment plan designed specifically for teens. It offers an innovative treatment to get them the results they want in as little as 6 months, and costs about the same as braces.

What age is appropriate for an Invisalign Teen?

Usually, kids can start wearing aligners at the age of 12. In any case, a specialist will have to make a full assessment to be able to confirm that a teen is able to get the Invisalign Teen treatment.

Invisalign vs braces for teens: Which is better?

Unlike braces, no wires and brackets are involved in the process. Invisalign Teen is an innovative alternative to metal braces, offering lasting results without wires or brackets, but only translucent, flexible plastic and removable clear braces.

  • Your child won’t have to be self-conscious about metal braces in their mouth, and can smile confidently.
  • Invisalign Teen braces are removable, so no more food restrictions. Eating and drinking are okay. Also, even oral hygiene can stay the same with brushing and flossing normally.
  • Since no metal brackets are involved, your teen will  spend less time in the chair getting adjustments.
Is Invisalign cheaper than braces?

The Invisalign Teen price in Sunnyvale is about the same as traditional braces and is covered by most insurance companies as well as LendingPoint. During your visit, our experts can help you figure out costs and payment plans.

Invisalign vs Direct to consumer braces: What’s the difference?

Users of the direct-to-consumer braces are responsible to make their own molds and are not monitored by any specialist. Invisalign, on the other hand, is not only a better but also a safer alternative. Your kid will get one-on-one attention. An orthodontist that takes X-rays will assess the bite, how the teeth fit together, and check the gums' condition. None of these can be done remotely.

What are my financial options for Invisalign?

During the first visit, we will discuss insurance benefits and recommend the best payment options so you don’t have to worry about any unexpected costs. Our payment plans provide an Invisalign financing plan with monthly installments, different payment options, and assistance with dental insurance forms. We also accept a wide range of dental plans. You can check all the details here.

Is Invisalign more painful than braces?

Invisalign is not painful. The first few days, teen patients will have to get used to wearing the aligners, which might give them a feeling of discomfort. At Trident Smiles Dental, we confidently provide pain-free, stress-free and tear-free care.

Invisalign vs Invisalign Teens

Just like Invisalign, Invisalign Teen aligners are the perfect invisible and removable aesthetic solution customized for teens.

Fun facts about Invisalign :)
  • The inventor of the Invisalign system had metal braces. As a student at Stanford, Zia Chishti had his braces removed and got a retainer. That’s when it occurred to him that a series of retainers could do the same work as metal braces, but with the benefit of being removable.
  • Straight teeth may improve oral health. Everyone knows that a nice smile is attractive, but it turns out that straight teeth can lead to better oral health overall.
  • Over 1,000,000 patients worldwide have been treated with Invisalign, and the number is increasing on a daily basis.
  • Invisalign braces control both the force and timing of the force application. During each treatment stage, only certain teeth are moved. Your orthodontist determines these movements as they map out your personal treatment plan.
  • Did you know that Invisalign Teens is nearly the same price as traditional braces? Most families don’t and believe that it is the more cost prohibitive option. But the truth is, they are typically similar in price and many dental insurance plans cover Invisalign Teen treatment the same way they cover normal braces.
  • You can eat chips and gummies! In fact, with Invisalign Teens there are absolutely NO food restrictions because you can remove the aligners when you eat, which also makes brushing and flossing your teeth easier.
  • Invisalign braces for teens have a special feature – a blue indicator that fades depending on how much you wear the retainer. They can help us understand if you’re wearing your retainers for the required amount of time or not.

General instructions
  • Keep your aligners in as much as possible. Patients should keep their aligners in almost all day during the first 48 hours. This is where they really do a lot of work and help you get used to feeling them.
  • You’ll need to adjust how you speak. When you first put them on, you will have a bit of a lisp. It’s important to prepare yourself for this so it won’t shock you as much when you talk.
  • Remember to floss. With Invisalign, flossing is more important than ever, as you really need to keep your teeth and gums as clean as can be. When you don’t floss, there can be a buildup of food, plaque, and other such things between your teeth.
  • Remember to clean your aligners. Invisalign aligners need to be cleaned every day, just like your teeth. Cleaning them is so easy, you just use your toothbrush and clean them with some toothpaste.
  • The patient can get translucent attachments that can help speed up the results. These are commonly referred to as Invisalign buttons. They can sometimes fall off so the patient should regularly be checking if they are still in place.
  • Scanning may be necessary during or at the end of treatment. This “refinement” is not an indication that something is wrong, but simply the doctor’s way of making adjustments in the treatment.
  • Aligner Removal: On one side of your mouth, use your fingertip on the inside of your back molar to slowly pull the aligner from your molars then walk the aligner out to the front and then the other side to release the aligner. Immediately rinse aligner with water, shake off excess water, and store your aligners in the protective case provided with your starter kit.
Dealing with Invisalign pain and discomfort

Although very rare, pain that needs treatment can sometimes arise during the first few days of your new aligner trays.

  • One of the best ways to get the soreness over with is to wear your Invisalign aligners as much as possible. This allows your teeth to shift sooner, and helps the aligner do its work in the first few days it’s in.
  • Sucking on ice cubes or drinking cold water while your Invisalign aligner is in will help soothe your sore teeth.
  • Since new aligners tend to cause the worst soreness in the first hours, we recommend that our patients put in a new aligner just before bedtime. You’ll be able to sleep through the initial discomfort and make your way through the next day without having to experience the worst discomfort while you’re wide awake.
  • In the first two or three days after getting a new Invisalign aligner, try to eat a diet that primarily consists of soft foods.
  • As a last resort, you can take over-the-counter pain medication if you absolutely have to. We recommend the above advice first since the discomfort is typically manageable for most patients.
Do's and don'ts for food and drinks

Invisalign has almost no food or drink limitations. There are, however, recommendations for keeping your aligners clean and your teeth underneath healthy:

  • Slim down the morning coffee. You won’t be able to sip on your favorite blend all morning long while wearing Invisalign. If you don’t remove the aligners, they can become stained if you drink coffee for too long – any drink or food that can stain your teeth will also stain your aligners in the same way (e.g. curry, bbq...).
  • Learn to love water, because it’s the safest bevarage with no risks of staining your aligners.
  • Build snacks and drinks into your day. Because Invisalign must be worn 20 to 22 hours a day for the treatment to be effective, you’ll have to be a bit speedy about your meals and snacks. You will want to keep tabs on the amount of time that Invisalign is off your teeth while eating so that you don’t go under the 20-hour mark. Unless your Invisalign specialist instructs you to wear it while eating.
  • Say no to gum. Gum is a complete no-no when you’re wearing Invisalign. The stickiness will impair the orthodontic treatment, get stuck to your aligners, and easily damage them because of the gum’s properties and the constant chewing motion.
  • Thoroughly brush and floss your teeth after meals and sugary drinks before putting aligners back in.
  • Smoking or chewing tobacco can cause your teeth to rot in addition to having a negative impact on your overall bodily health and stayining your aligners.
